Chris 'Jenx' Jenkins

A Lenoir County, North Carolina native, Chris Jenkins has spent his entire life in the South, and his southern roots are evident in his music. Born in 1978, he  was exposed to music very early on, by way of his musical family (His father is a guitarist, his mother a pianist). It was only a matter of time before the notes would flow from his fingertips. His father put a guitar, or at least a smaller version of a guitar, in his hands around the age of four and began teaching him the instrument. Starting with a two-string boogie, the blues soon became deeply ingrained in his soul. Needless to say, his musical knowledge has grown. Now in his 30's, Chris has matured into an exceptionally talented blues, rhythm & blues and rock guitar player.

A member of bands since his early teen years, Chris has had the pleasure of playing along side many great musicians, including The Marshall Tucker Band, Cracker, and The Bill Lyerly Band. Playing mostly Alternative and Modern Rock, Chris has come back to his roots with The Donald Thompson Band, playing blues, R&B and rock like his heroes, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, B.B. King, Muddy Waters, and Eric Clapton. This music is set deep in Chris' soul - and you can hear it in every note he plays.
